Orgelschule für Kinder

My organ school follows a different approach than previous works. The main focus is on a holistic and playful approach that appeals to several senses and is intended to awaken a fascination for the organ as an instrument. It is not just about producing sounds, but about immersing yourself in the world of sounds and understanding organ playing in all its facets. The music is experienced on the basis of new findings in music education.
Instead of just "learning tones", the focus is on understanding motifs, which are initially written down as musical graphics and later in conventional notation. Topics are linked to the child's everyday world and the lessons are structured around experiential topics. A major focus is on introducing the child to different aspects of improvisation at an early stage. Pieces are learned as games in order to create an emotional connection, which can later serve as inspiration for the design of organ literature and improvisations.
Craft ideas and game ideas promote the children's fine motor skills and sense of rhythm and enable them to deepen what they have learned at home with their families. All pieces in the first part have lyrics to sing along to. The piano is also included in selected chapters to make the (dynamic) touch quality more tangible and to be able to transfer it to the organ.
